“Shoot for the stars—just in case you fall, you land on clouds.” To me, this isn’t just a catchy line; it’s a part of Moore To Come. I wrote it not to fill pages, but to remind myself and readers that wanting something big isn’t something to be scared of. I’ve been leaning hard on that mantra lately, and on Proverbs 3:5‑6—
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Don’t worry, it’s too long for a tattoo, but I carry it with me while I go on this journey toward becoming a published author.
You might be wondering don’t you already have books out? Yep, I’ve self‑published four of them, and that’s been like playing in the G League. Now I’m shooting for the NBA,querying every publisher’s inbox with my best, most polished pitch. Sure, I’ve felt the sting of “no” emails, landing on some clouds haven’t knocked me out , because those clouds are soft, and they’ve only reminded me why we aim for stars in the first place. This isn’t self‑help fluff,it’s me being raw and transparent, so if you’re reaching for your own star, maybe on a different trajectory, but in this same sky, know you’re not alone. Let’s keep climbing, together
.
And reaching for the stars is nothing new for me. I’ve been doing it. I’ve caught a star already—self-publishing my own books. That wasn’t just a dream, it was a goal my star I reached out and grabbed with my own two hands. But here’s the thing about dreamers like me one star is never enough when you know there’s another one shining just behind it, calling my name.
Now, I’m after that next star, being published. And let me be clear: I’m not leaving without it. I’m posted right here, arms stretched, wide open, doing the work, staying the course. I’m not just hoping,I’m moving, I’m sending those queries out like prayers with Wi-Fi signals attached. And trying to make my online footprint big foot sized
The stars don’t move away from you when you chase them, they move toward you when you stay stubborn, faithful, and relentless. That’s where I’m at. And if you’re reaching for your own stars right now too, don’t even think about quitting. We’re already closer than we think.
Now if you’ve made it this far, fithank you. I know you’re probably sitting there like, “Okay, what exactly is going on?” Let me catch you up: I’m on a mission. A real one. I want to inject the world with that warm, tingly, genuine feeling of love. Not the “self-help, fix-your-life” talk you’re probably tired of. Nah, we’ve had enough of that.
This time, I’m coming different. I’m coming with story.
I’m so excited to introduce my newest project,a love story featuring Damien and Suni.
This isn’t just another book. This is my very first fiction book. And it’s special.
Through my research (and just paying attention to life), I realized something real: most people aren’t looking for another lecture about life. They’re looking for an escape. A new world. A place where they can laugh, cry, fall in love, get mad, and then fall in love all over again. And that’s exactly what I’m creating—a new reality people will actually want to get lost in.
Damien and Suni’s story is full of the real, raw, messy, beautiful stuff we all crave.
And trust me, you’re gonna feel it.
Stay tuned.
The song I chose to correlate with this post is “Highest in the Room” by Travis Scott, it just fits too perfectly. You can probably tell by the title alone: to reach our goals, to touch our stars, you have to be the highest in the room. You have to be the one thinking bigger, dreaming wilder, and moving different.
But the line that really sealed the deal for me was, “We gon’ stay on top and break the rules, uh, I fill my mind up with ideas.”
That hit me because, like I mentioned earlier, I already grabbed one star (self-publishing) but I’m not done. I want the one just behind it. That means I’m staying on top, locked in, and sometimes it means breaking the rules a little. Because when you’re really chasing something different, when you’re daring to go beyond what’s expected, you’re supposed to test the limits and break some rules
And my mind is overflowing with ideas to make that next star mine. It’s the anthem for every dreamer who refuses to stay grounded.
Makes sense 💪
